Campbell Bay - 10 min. by boat |
The Lake... Kootenay Lake is approx. 100 miles long and 400 ft. deep, its waters are clear and crisp. Perfect for the many varieties of fish and the brave or young for swimming. Please be patient as images load. View to the South |

The East Side of the lake is rugged and beautiful
with magnificent cliffs that extend down into the water, at spots the water is 225ft.deep
just a foot off shore. Its hard to believe that trees can grow on these sheer rock
walls, they have a bonsai look to them and combined with the emerald green moss
surrounding them, make a wonderful vista. In some areas minerals dripping down have
created an effect locals call inkspots. In others, the cliffs form faces like sculptures. ![]() While out boating you must watch for birds, many varieties of
ducks, loons, osprey and eagles live in the area. Watching an Osprey dive for fish is a
special treat but keep your eyes peeled as the eagles will try to steal it from them. You have many choices to explore the lake, we can rent you a boat or a canoe or arrange kayak rentals or guided tours. Also it is possible to take a helicopter or scenic plane ride over the area.
